6 months ago, I could have inserted 100 puke emojis at the thought of cropped flares and orange nail polish. Truth is? I’m current wearing them both.
I am one of those people who needs some time to process, seek to understand, and then slowly warm up to new fashion ideas. Teaching? I’m totally in as long as it appears to be what’s best for kids. Fashion? Yah… no…
I bought a pair of flare crops and let them collect dust in my closet for 3 months before I actually put them on. The day I decided to wear them to school, my engine blew going 65 on 405 on my way to work… I’ll never forget the outfit I wore that day, ha. I was totally fine and able to pull over, call 911, my principal, and my husband. With no recollection of what I said to any of them, I could tell you exactly what I was wearing. Slightly embarrassing but science (and true).
Anyways, now I’m obsessed with cropped flares and have them in 3 different shades of denim: white, light wash, and medium wash. I don’t know what it is about them, but they are SO much fun to wear. Maybe it’s because I feel like Jackie from That’s 70 show?
Almost all of the awesome teacher approved clothing shops are starting to create cropped flares in pant material! I can’t wait to try these out!
Sometimes teacher outfits can get repetitive (at least I know I feel that way a lot of the time). Adding a different type of bottoms into your lineup allows you to wear that super cute blouse that you feel like you can only wear once. I swear, for each different bottom, you can wear the same exact blouse, shoes, and earrings and the look will feel different.
How do you feel about cropped flares? Did you hate them at first too? Try a pair on and let me know what you think!
