I shared a little bit about how I felt about teacher evaluation’s in my post about ditching shame + keeping your integrity… but now being immersed in the joys of January’s tornado, the anxiety kicks back in. I don’t know why evaluations are so scary but they are…
and they shouldn’t be.
We have enough to worry about already– our students safety, if they are reading, if they are growing… progress reports and report cards, conferences, did we brush our teeth? It’s 4 and we haven’t had lunch yet? and on top of all the daily teacher struggles, now we have to have someone who isn’t doing our job evaluate us based on tiny human’s choices during our lesson? It’s slightly bananas.
I’m just saying– if you’re evaluation doesn’t go the way you expected, make sure to use it as a learning opportunity to grow, and not a reason why you should self-destruct. It’s easier said that done, but hopefully personal pep talk’s wonderful little reminder helps guide your teacher heart during the super fun months of January and February…
in this weeks teacher style…

Who else is ready for spring outfits? Winter just started but I am clearly so ready! Thankfully we’ve had more sunny days than rainy days the last couple of weeks… but that doesn’t make up for the massive full moon that plagued our classrooms on Thursday… Fingers crossed there are no full moons for a while… they really do wonders to a teachers soul……
Until next week 🙂
