My husband sent me a funny meme tweet thing that said, “I just took a DNA test and it turns out I’m 100% an over thinker when someone’s energy is just a little different…” Guilty as charged. Except I might exchange the word “over” for “deep” because once my brain gets going, it doesn’t stop. It jumps around faster than Tiger but within 24 hours the point “A” it started at will be close to a point “Q”. Needless to say this time out of the classroom has really given me a fresh perspective on the necessities and desires I have as a teacher.
In short, replaying conversations in my head from 2 years ago and trying to refine my growth areas led to thoughts like “having your favorite pens really makes a difference” and “why didn’t I keep stress gummies on hand… wait I didn’t know they actually worked” has helped guide my gift guides this year. Sure, there are always the cutesy things we desire (will be guilty for life) but there are also little things that can make a positive difference in our busy and stressful days.
some of the deets!
-I’ve tried a lot of pens in my day (and we all have our fav) and I highly, highly, highly recommend any Erin Condren pens. they are dual tipped, solid pen glide but lightweight (very unlikely to bleed on the next page, depending on paper but most), and they last all year *assuming the caps are tightly fastened… learn this the hard way*.
-I’ve probably over shared my love for Sephora’s tinted lip balm… can’t stop, won’t stop! The shades are beautiful, it doesn’t get cakey, and it’s only $6! Plus, adding a tinted pop of color to your lips can help your soul feel more confident if lip stick is your thing 🙂
-Most teachers love organizing and planning… everything! *Some how* our wellness is low on the priority list. This wellness planner is a teachers dream! When we’re on autopilot and it becomes hard to think, this planner keeps you mentally on track in your personal AND professional life. I love the different planning templates it has + all the strategies for every part of our busy lives!
-About 7 years ago my mom put oil blotters in my stocking… thought it was random and ridiculous then… NOW THOUGH. Yes please let me blot my oily face in the middle of the day. When I go back to work, you better believe I will have a drawer full of these!
–Stress.Gummies. Enough said #teacherproblems
-Our art teacher pulled this little panda out during a meeting once so of course I had to buy one and try it out. IT’S INCREDIBLE. It’s a cooling eye stick that stimulates and soothes under eyes… aka keeps them moistures to prevent teacher eyes. Because my little panda is stored away with all my classroom items, I ordered this one from Nordstrom and love it. To be honest, I can’t tell a difference between the two brands… one is just much cheaper!
I’m feeling more excited than usual this holiday season and can’t wait to get back into the groove of things! I hope you all are having a great school year + happy start of your holiday shopping/wishlist making!!!
