I turned 30 in November and in January decided it was probably time to get my first facial. I’ve always done a decent job at taking care of my skin but with age mixed with the lots of stress over the last three years, I knew I needed to invest a bit (or a lot) more care into my routine.
While I’m not against botox by any means (and will probably get it at some point in my life) I am trying to prolong the need as long as I can… especially because I’m not the biggest fan of needles… but recently have noticed a couple forehead wrinkles becoming quite prominent on my face. Wrinkles, gray hair, all that jazz… definitely an individual preference and style that is dependent on how we want to look and feel our best. There is no right or wrong way to be you. I personally pluck out my gray hairs and would like to avoid wrinkles until I’m in my 40’s. Oh my lanta, that’s not that far away. AH!
Thankfully one of my friends from high school has become an incredible esthetician in the Mil Creek, Washington area… so as much as I could share tips about picking the right esthetician for your facials, the only thing I got is go to someone you (or someone you know) trust (if you have someone in the industry you know and trust)… but remember that every ones skin responds differently. This might be a good collaboration piece for Cha and I in the future 🙂
However… what I am obsessed with is the automated microneedleing service she completed on my face because I kid you not… my forehead wrinkles vanished almost immediately after.
Automated Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is a new innovation in aesthetics medicine for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of the skin overall appearance. During this procedure, a tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. The skin repairs process results in a thicker dermis with the appearance of softer wrinkles. Micro-Needling also creates superficial micro-channels which allows topical gels, creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively into the skin.
I was pretty scared to try it… a mini needle to my face with consent penetration… umm… I’ll try it……. but the results speak for themselves. I wish the pictures were in the same lighting… but both pictures have zero filters, zero editing, just natural lighting differences!
