This week has been full of starbucks coffee, insightful learning, goal setting, and non-stop growing pains… I’m not a mother yet, but I can’t even imagine how difficult it’s going to be when I am to make decisions for my actual children. I have 14 students (aka my kids) on my special education caseload this year and when faced with tiny decisions like trying to find the funniest youtube video to share with them– all the way to the bigger decisions like what would the impact be if I wasn’t their teacher anymore, the best interest of those tiny little humans always win. It’s pretty crazy that as a teacher, I am making choices every single day that can literally build a child up or break a child down. If you are a teacher, you are truly amazing. If you have thought about being a teacher, you probably should…and are amazing. And if you had an amazing teacher that made a positive impact on your life, September is 100% the month to remind them. Trust me, they will appreciate it. I already e-mailed my seventh grade Language Arts & Social Study teacher… for without her college would have always been “not for me” but because of her college is the place I met my husband and got my teaching certificate. Now… On a different note 🙂
Alongside my incredibly productive week of back-to-school planning and professional development, I put a lot of effort into developing a plan for my blog… Putting my ideas to practice is my goal this weekend! I also did a lot of outfit wearing and shoe breaking in and have some recommendations based on my assessments.

SHOES: Lord & Taylor | DOORMAT: Target
TEACHER DRESS CODE: These flats are seriously AMAZING. I don’t know if you’re like me and have pretty sensitive feet, but these blushed beauties have a padded insole that feels like you stepped on top of an extra fluffy memory foam topper. You could 100% wear these all day without feeling any discomfort. Click the link above and use code: FASHION at check-out to receive 15% off!

Teacher Dress Code: If you’re interested in buying these flats (which I highly recommend, they are only $16.99) buy half a size up! I bought these flats in a size 7 and 7.5. My feet have apparently shrunk, but for the most part I wear a size 7. I wore the size 7 and started getting a blister on the back of my left ankle. After my blister heeled, I wore the 7.5 and had absolutely no issues and they were really comfortable.
I am already predicting that this is going to be one of my go-to t-shirts this fall. I work in a Title 1 school that has a Spanish dual language program and the fact that this shirt says love in multiple languages… I feel like this tee is the perfect representation of my school. It was a big hit at PD… ESPECIALLY paired with my jaguar watch… Which is my favorite, favorite, favorite accessory.

I’m hoping this will point you in the right direction this year…Ehh Ehh… Get it? Ha… I’m so weird. I am definitely both a heel and flat gal! As a special ed teacher, it’s easier for me to wear flats, as some days I chase children down the road or up a flight of stairs… I wore all these flats during errands, PD, and planning this week! I am seriously so impressed with both pairs of the Old Navy Flats. Old Navy started making shoe sizes in half sizes— I am between a 7 and 7.5 and the 7.5 fit perfectly! I love finding a good pair of flats that you don’t have to break in. The blush flats are from nine west and I can’t seem to find them anywhere on-line! I bought mine from Marshalls. As soon as I find a link, I will post it!

I would like everyone to know that after reading the wonderful and thoughtful comments on my instagram post (thank you all very much by the way) I’ve come to the conclusion that YOU CAN WEAR WHITE AFTER LABOR DAY! **Take that 4th grader who called me out repeatedly last year… It’s been approved!** This is something that I’ve always wondered about… I have spent plenty of time on google, which usually answers most of my questions, and found inconclusive results. This year… I’ll be rocking my white jeans all the way to Christmas! If a child hasn’t destroyed them by that point……
The teacher in me says, “A couple of reminders before you start your weekend…”
1) 20% off your entire purchase at OldNavy.com with code: LUCKY
2) Invest in a jaguar watch –> Click here… I’m actually leopard
3) Buy a size up in Target flats!
4) If you spent a lot of your week focusing on a negative situation that caused doubt and uncertainty in your life but you were able to find the bright spot in all clouds… Well, we have a lot in common… AND you are strong, you matter, and you’ve got this.
