Overall Dress: H&M (size 2, I would size up) | Top: Madewell | Shoes: Old Navy (size 7) | Earrings: Nordstrom | Ring: Stella & Dot
Wearing overalls brings me back to my playing soccer in dresses days. Well, I guess I still do that on Fridays. Except I’ve given my students the responsibility of reminding me to wear sneakers on Fridays! One of these days I’m going to remember to throw a pair in the back of my jeep.
I tried on about 20 different pairs of overall dresses before falling in love with this gem from H&M. I’ve been loving all the H&M looks this spring. It was one of my favorite places to shop in college. Once I started graduate school, I transitioned to more of a J.Crew, Gap, Loft gal. Since I’ve started my journey of mixing and matching my personal style with teacher staples, I’ve found myself checking all my college shops again. It’s funny how perceptions can be so engrained in us, we don’t even realize it.
I definitely told myself I was going to stop shopping at H&M, Forever 21, the juniors department at Nordstrom, after I graduated from college. I’m assuming it’s because I was going to be rich once I received my first big girl check… LOL…
The perception of only children wear overalls or farmers slightly hindered my overall hunt… Mind you, I’m still looking for a great pair of basic overalls so if you have any recommendations, send them my way! Overall dresses are flattering, trendy, and comfortable. If you’ve been holding back, for whatever reason, release that perception and rock some bibs!
