You all (I wish I could say ya’ll so bad… why do I have to be from Seattle, lol) are probably tired of hearing about my involuntary transfer by now but… I think it’s something that no one talks about and when it happens, it feels personal– anyways.
This school year, one of my REALLY good friends is joining me in elementaryland! When we taught middle school, I was one of the resource room teachers and she was our reading interventionist/AVID teacher. Two years ago she started her masters program to be a school counselor and… you guessed it! We needed a school counselor!
We had our first training today and I am having a hard time finding the words to express the amount of joy I am feeling. It’s been a long journey to get to the place I am at. Having her join my new school community feels like a home cooked meal. Ha, that’s so corny… but it’s true. I feel like I am one of those people who really doesn’t need much. For the most part, I’m pretty easy going, like to work hard, will do anything for the kids, pretty independent but will seek the answers if I don’t know… I needed this. My heart needed this.
In outfit news, finding a pair of booties that don’t look baggy and gross around my ankles is always a challenge. Whenever I’m participating in professional development over pinterest, booties and dresses always catch my eye. I own a couple pairs that I don’t typically wear… I bought this pair of Blondo booties from the anniversary sale and love the fit! The neutral color will go with almost all my new fall dresses!
Red is a big summer this season so I’ve been slowly adding some pieces into my wardrobe. I wish this wasn’t the case– does anybody else associate red with being (insert other word that is not appropriate for teachers to say) flirtatious (still not the best synonym… get what i’m saying? lol). I love wearing the color red… I just won’t usually wear it to work. I need to get over that red outfit bias. Am I the only one?
H&M is my absolute FAVORITE place to get dresses! Here are some of my current favorites!
Ah! Time to get back to PD. I hope you all are having a FANTASTIC back-to-school season and wishing you those heart filled with joy moments that all us teachers need 🙂
