Did anyone else scratch the afternoon lesson plans on Friday and play apples to apples juniors instead? If you haven’t use apples and apples junior as an “I’m not in the mood, their not in the mood, they need to read, i’m doing it” lesson alternative– you should try it! Especially if you’re like me and don’t have all next week off… Today the saying the kids were bouncing off the walls developed a whole new meaning in my life because I actually witnessed four children climbing on the walls. While it might have been a huge safety concern and I did intervene, I’m actually really impressed with their ability to use their eight year old bodies to climb about 6 feet up a wall.
Maybe it’s the weather or the kids climbing walls but this week I wore a lot of black and animal print… Details below 🙂 AND almost all my Old Navy Finds are 40-50% off!
MONDAY D E T A I L S
Sweater: Tj Maxx (size small) | Pants: Old Navy (size 0P) | Flats: Similar | Bag: Target
Featured Teacher Staple: I needed to wash my every day teacher bag and needed to find a cute alternative. I’ve received so many compliments on this bag over the last week! I’m thinking about a weekly rotation. The coolest part about this bag is it’s reversible! It reverses into the perfect sized all black tote. The one thing that is a little challenging for me is there are no pockets. I’ve been using different puffs and old ipsy glam bags for my external hard drive, chapsticks– all that jazz. I’ve been carrying my Erin Condren planner, my work computer, 3 different puffs, and computer charger daily and there is plenty of room for more! Oh… the BEST part? This bag is only $29.99… If you’re in the market, I highly recommend this bag!
—>dress it down: Turn it inside out- BOOM!
TUESDAY D E T A I L S
Shirt: Target (size x-small) | Travel Wrap: Target | Jeans: Target (0S) | Rainboots: Amazon (size 7) | Watch: Animal Print Watch | Necklace: Stella & Dot
Featured Teacher Staple: Every elementary teacher truly needs a pair of hunter rainboots. Living in Seattle has given me the opportunity to test out thousands (or like 10…) different brands of rainboots. Hunters win every time! They are actually comfortable and are designed for venturing into wet and thick terrain. Recess rain has nothing on these boots! I recommend sizing down— they run a little big! I’m only 5’1 and a HALF and the boot height is perfect for the short gal!
—> dress it up: I love wearing skirts & rainboots! Find a little pleated skirt and a pajama shirt for the perfect dressy and teacher worthy ensemble!
WEDNESDAY D E T A I L S
Top: Tj Maxx (size small) | Jeans: Old Navy (size 24) | Shoes: Old Navy (size 7.5) | Necklace: Stella & Dot
Fall Teacher Staple: These sueded animal print flats have been so much fun to mix-and-match different outfits with. I had to break them in a day or two, but after the break-in I found multiple ways I could style these two-toned flats with no sign of discomfort. Today they are on sale for $13.50… I have 3 different pairs of this style from Old Navy and love the way they fit my feet. It drives me bananas when you can see part of my toes when wearing flats– do you know what I mean? I love that these are full toe coverage (wait… HA am I describing an undergarment?)! They are by no means waterproof but after wearing them on multiple raining days, they smell great, still have their structure, and require no bandaids at the end of the day!
—> dress it up: Slip into any little solid colored dress and add these flats for a classic pop of print!
THURSDAY D E T A I L S
Shirt: Target (size x-small) | Pants: Old Navy (size 0P) | Heels: Old Navy (size 8- usually a 7-7.5) | Bag: Target | Rings: here (sm) & here (size 5)
Featured Teacher Staple: I mentioned these pixie pants in yesterdays post but I am their number #1 fan! I actually don’t think anyone could make a pair of dress pants that could be more perfect for me. I love leather but am always hesitant about wearing it to school. When I saw these on-line… It’s what spiraled my huge Old Navy purchase. At the end of a 9 hour day on my feet, these pants looked exactly the same as they did when I got dressed that morning. They are flattering, easy to move in, and stylish. The slight metallic flair in the material makes these dress pants the perfect pair of work to happy hour slacks! I’m wearing a size 0P and they hit my ankles exactly where I love pants to fall!
—> dress it down: Pair these pants with your school t-shirt, a jean jacket, and some sneakers for a teacher street chic outfit that is perfect for the holiday season!
FRIDAY D E T A I L S
Sweater: Old Navy (x-small) | Jeans: Old Navy (size 24) | Shoes: Similar
Featured Teacher Staple: I’m loving the mock sweater trend! 6 different colors? Yes please! I love when sweaters don’t make you look like the camera adds 10 pounds urban legend. The cut of this sweater has a slight fit that is flattering and roomy. It’s lightweight but surprisingly kept me nice and toasty during the school day. There may have been some after school dancing done in this sweater and for that reason it might come with a little Friday Funnies as well 🙂
—> dress it up: Pair this little mock sweater with high rise dress pants, an animal print block heel, and some layering jewels for a sweater weather professional feel!
The sales this weekend are SO GOOD! What has been your favorite fall teacher outfit combination so far?
