I’ve received a lot of messages lately about how I curl my hair. A few years ago and figured it was time for an update. Not much as changed to the curling technique… but after I tried a sample of Dry Bar’s Southern Bell shampoo and conditioner, I haven’t gone back since. For the record– this is not sponsored by Dry Bar in ANY way. I bet they don’t even know I exist, ha. I’m just a super fan of their products… Every two weeks I use a blue shampoo to tone the brass out of my hair and I notice a huge change to my hairs volume and texture. The Southern Bell shampoo and conditioner IS THE BEST. It’s worth every penny!
Product wise– I spray It’s a 10 after I get out of the shower. Before I curl my hair, I use another Dry Bar product, Hot Toddy, which is a before heat spray. It’s a hair saver! My haircuts have been lasting about two months longer since using this product. It has prevented so many spilt ends.
For my tools– I use the Bombay 32 mm Clamp Curling Iron. I clamp curl and wrap my hair when curling it. When my hair hits the “it’s way too long and straggly” point, I will switch over to wrap curling my hair (and book a hair appointment ASAP)… For years I didn’t think hair brushes mattered. After my husband bought me the Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush for Christmas a few years ago, I finally learned why they mattered. This is my second brush, only because Blue ate my first one. I used it until one day I got a splinter, lol.

the 10 minute tutorial

I usually end up doing about 6-7 clamp curls on each side 🙂

Depending on the time of year, I will use hairspray (usually winter). My hair is so dry right now, I don’t need too! If your hair is finer and struggles with holding curls, I would use your favorite hair spray! 🙂
