The experience I’m having guest teaching is something I wish every teacher could have… and definitely something that would be important for people going into administration roles would benefit from. Each grade level, subject area, and school setting is so different from one another. Which is obvious, but when you’re actually seeing and feeling the difference, it’s pretty eye opening in a wonderful type of learning type of way.
I never would have predicted I would love teaching high school. Never. We always have a plan, right? Or a thought or an idea of who we are, what we want, and where we’re going to go. I’m pretty confident that I know myself really well, yet this experience keeps teaching me that I’m forever changing and growing… and nothing is as in stone as sometimes I think it. Partially, I think I love just working with kids, but I am realizing I could be happy anywhere as long as I’m doing that. I’m really excited to see what the future has in store for me.
A huge shout out to all the teachers who sent me tips and tricks for working with high schoolers. Not only did it put my mind at ease, I felt much more prepared going into the days than if I wouldn’t have asked. It’s pretty awesome to be able to ask a question on instagram and have a world full of experts in all the different fields. I learn so much from you guys– thank you.
